Rising Phoenix residential
program offers treatment components combined with outdoor experiences
and work on a longer term basis where youth can make consistent and productive
change. The therapeutic milieu allows for youth to address long term
issues and restructure personality impediments. Substance abuse treatment
is a key component to help youth confront addictions or unhealthy use
and find positive alternatives while taking responsibility for their own
choices. The youth will use a positive peer culture to hold each other
accountable, lead their peers, and learn to develop their potential.
This program is a holistic approach to improving
many areas of life. The approach used is to teach the youth to govern
himself while living as part of the community. When the youth completes
this program successfully, he will be able to move forward with his life
as a person who can make healthy decisions for self-direction regarding
choices in education, vocation, personal management, drug abstinence,
and many other areas.
The youth will be assigned a therapist who will
help him better understand himself and his goals. The youth will work
side by side with his own guide and staff as he engages in work, education,
outdoor activities, and therapeutic treatment to instill and enhance a
true sense of direction in life.
This program engages the youth in many activities.
He will find himself in service to others and his community. He will learn
from animals and the earth as he helps things to live and grow. He will
become educated and learn much, both from books and from people. He will
experience the outdoors as never before and take lessons from the wilderness.
He will recreate in ways formerly unknown. He will find ways to stay sober
and healthy. He will become part of a therapeutic milieu and learn from
those around him. And he will discover himself and his true potential.
